“This recently-released dvd is aimed both at women who are currently having treatment for breast cancer and at all those who may come into contact with them: yoga teachers, breast-care nurses, support groups, medical practitioners and breast cancer organisation.
Written and presented by Annette (Loudon), who has a wealth of experience in teaching yoga to people with disabilities and illnesses, it comprises two one-hour long lessons, each made up of breathing, practices and relaxation and with the second more difficult than the first. It concludes with a peaceful candle meditation.
All the practices are generally accepted as being beneficial to women with breast cancer. Annette’s guidance and instructions are clear and precise, her corrections personal and sensitive. One outstanding and original feature of the dvd is the recommended posture variations, which allow each woman to proceed in her own individual manner.
Beautifully filmed, lit and edited, combining distant shots with close-ups, and with specially-composed harp music, the DVD is easy on the eyes and ears, without detracting for a moment from the importance of the lessons.
This dvd is particularly useful as it can be used on its own or as a supplement to regular yoga classes or, equally importantly, by women unable to attend classes or living in remote areas. It satisfies a huge need.”
